Like many great ventures, Bob Klee’s entrepreneurial spirit lead him to establish Hometown Quotes in his garage just over 16 years ago. The company was built on the keystone of Honest, Trusted Quality, based on his more than twenty years of experience as an agency owner in three different states.

Todd’s vast knowledge of online insurance marketing began when he joined the Hartford Personal Lines Insurance Corporation, with a focus of developing new online marketing channels for the AARP Personal Lines Insurance Programs. Over the next several years, Todd held senior level management roles for NetQuote, Advice Company, Bankrate, and Lending Tree. Through these positions, he became an expert in building insurance content designed to leverage carrier reviews and consumer generated content to drive SEO traffic, stabilizing and stimulating revenue and profit growth, and culminating successful acquisition programs.
With the desire to launch his own online insurance marketing company, Todd co-founded Distinct Leads. Distinct Leads’ cutting edge ping-post acquisition website supported several strategic carrier and agent buyers, with the intent to use third party and end-to-end data analytics to enable results based lead procurement.
As the healthcare industry shifted and commenced state based health exchanges, Todd joined Insurance Care Direct as their Head of Business Development to generate new acquisition partnerships and strategies in the consumer health market.
By 2014, Todd teamed with Hometown Quotes’ co-founders Jon Kelly and Bob Klee as their President and Chief Revenue officer. Todd’s utmost goal is to continually shape Hometown Quotes as the highest respected provider of high quality, productive insurance leads to local “hometown” agents.

Jon Kelly’s name is synonymous with online insurance marketing. After working as a management consultant to large insurance companies, such as Prudential, CNA and Fireman’s Fund, Jon Kelly changed the insurance industry forever when he co-founded eCoverage, the first venture-backed online insurance agency 15 years ago.
By the time Jon sold eCoverage to GMAC to form the technology backbone of GMAC Insurance Online, he’d recognized the power of search marketing for insurance companies and the power of the internet to help consumers shop for insurance. Jon then went on to start his own online ad agency, co-found the online insurance platform SureHits, and then run the insurance division for QuinStreet. Jon understands the insurance business inside and out and believes that online shopping will be increasingly beneficial for insurance consumers, agents and carriers in the years ahead.
After leaving QuinStreet, the time was right to begin developing a new service. Jon teamed with Hometown’s CTO, Matt Macchia, to launch a new service that matches consumers with local insurance agents and national carriers. Jon sought the highest caliber talent, from obtaining the brightest technical team to purchasing the extremely successful Evolve Marketing and hiring its president, Gary Friedman, as head of marketing.
With his team ready and growing, Jon’s company partnered with Bob Klee at Hometown Quotes in 2012 to match highly-interested consumers with agents and companies who were ready to help. “The Hometown Quotes deal made a ton of sense as we had developed tremendous technological capabilities but wanted to have distribution to local agents,” Jon explains. “HTQ provided that for us, as well as a great, trusted brand.” With the company now operating under the Hometown Quotes brand and delivering unmatched service to consumers and agents alike, Jon insists he’s just getting started: “We’re going to double down on the bets we’ve been making for the last year. We believe that we have an amazing technology platform and deep insurance expertise that will allow us to dramatically grow our consumer marketing efforts. We also believe that we will significantly grow our agent base, given our team’s deep insurance agency history and strong focus on customer service.”
