3 Easy Ways to Stay Connected with Your Insurance Leads

After I’ve talked to an insurance lead, I like to implement a follow-up strategy to ensure I retain contact with potential clients. Here are a few tips for staying in touch with your insurance prospects:

1) Determine your next touchpoint: When will you contact them again? I like to send out an immediate email and then retain contact via social media, monthly emails and promotional updates. Add your insurance lead’s email address to your monthly newsletter, invite them to read your blog, find social media sites you share in common. Have a plan in place so remaining in contact becomes routine and unsigned clients don’t get lost in the shuffle of day-to-day business.

2) Record your prospecting: It’s easy to get discouraged after a “No” answer; it gets even harder after several. But every no puts you that much closer to a yes. It’s a numbers game, after all. Keeping notes on high-probability prospects will help you understand your key metrics, so you can focus your time and energy on efficiently growing your agency.

3) Take good notes: We all know the insurance business is a relationship business. If you’re not staying on top of what’s new in the lives of your prospects, you may be missing out on business. Always document your conversations as they happen or immediately afterward. You can build a list that will inform your future social media posts and seminars based on your client’s interests and concerns.
